Moment, the company known for its cases and detachable lenses for mobile phones, is releasing two of its costly yet beloved cases for the iPhone X. The Photo Case and Battery Photo Case both contain mounts that allow Moment's lenses to be attached. The Battery Photo Case can juice your phone up to 90 percent and also features a shutter button that connects to your phone via the Moment app or the default camera app.
The new cases are compatible with Moment's new lenses released earlier this year: wide; tele, which takes photos 2x closer; superfish, which the company claims gives the widest possible shot on a phone; and macro, for capturing close-ups and smaller details. “Moment for iPhone X will be the most advanced gear we’ve ever made for mobile photography," said Marc Barros, CEO of Moment in a statement.
Moment first introduced its lenses back in 2014. Our review of the original lenses said they’re “fun to shoot with and make for some cool photos, provided you're willing to make the investment in time and money to use them.” In testing the new products, Moment's team went on a four day road trip. The result is a video that shows the team drinking loads of coffee and speaking to random people who all seem to be impressed with the gear, of course.
The company's Photo Case will begin shipping from December 5th and is available in both a black or wooden finish. It’s available for pre-order now for $29.99, while the Battery Photo Case is still in development and will be shipped in Spring. There's no indication of how much the battery model of the case will cost, but the charging case for other models is $99.99, so expect to be paying around that much for the iPhone X version. The lenses are available now and range between $90 to $100 each.
And if you're a proud Android user, Moment also has cases for the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ on pre-order, and Pixel 2 models too. All of the camera gear is available through Moment's online store.
